What did you do?

This app worked fine before this last update. Now it’s constantly freezing, while doing nothing more than TYPING.

I guess it’s nice that it seems to sync some notification statuses with iOS. BUT: periodic random crashes, refreshing and scrolling to the top of the timeline unexpectedly, failing to remember my place when i drill down into threads and replies and return, these are the less annoying bugs. How about: when you delete a retweet it pops up a dialog to confirm, quoting the tweet you are removing, but when you click OK it instead deletes another one of your recent tweets. Or: the gesture to go back when you are viewing a thread is very sensitive and has no animated feedback so you’ll do it all the time if you are scrolling on a magic mouse, probably losing your position every time. Just icing on the cake: when you click and image to open it the fancy borderless window displays its borders over top of both ends of the image—because there’s certainly no chance you just wanted to look at it within that few seconds, especially given that many people post images of paragraph text which are essentially completely pointless until you get to see the whole thing.

Since the latest update, this app has been an absolute disaster!! Sometimes it works fine, at other times, it crashes after scrolling down a few tweets, and today, it crashes as soon as I try opening it over and over again, complete garbage!!!!!!!

bad bad bad and very bad

very buggy and slow …….and no GIF integration slow to open and slow to close

Bothersome to use, because the minimal amount of use will cause the app to lag and crash. Crashing or force quitting the app has become my new normal since updating the app, I can’t use it for longer than 5 minutes or so at a time.

Aweful, can I downgrade?

- Oversized, so much real-estate waisted for something thats always on. - Buggy and Sluggish, did anyone tested this?

I loved how the old app didn’t refresh every single time I logged back onto my laptop after standby; it let me review my feed, but now it instantly refreshes on its own. When I try to scroll towards the past feed, it’ll freeze - it even freezes when I’m typing! I like the design of the new update, but the old one was far more stable and functioned better. Come on Twitter, get yourself together.

To me this app do much less than what I can do in a browser. Why an application if it doesn’t do better than what can be done directly on the web. It take space on my iMac for nothing. Plus it doesn’t look stable

I’m not too sure if its suppose to be a feature in the app but it keeps loading new tweets automatically and its extrememly frustrating. I cannot finish reading a tweet before it moves down. Also, it quits at random times, very frustating as well. Fix these problems and then I’ll be happy.

This update leaks memory like there is no tomorrow. The memory usage from the twitter app was 10gb on one of my macs, and 17gb on the other. Please address this issue asap.

The layout and fuctionality is great. But the darn thing crashes constantly (as everyone else has noted). I’m running the latest OS on a new machine, so that’s not the problem. If they could just figure out what’s causing it to freeze and crash, it would be a 4 to 5 star rating.

If you have an older version installed, DO NOT UPGRADE It’s slow, crashy, buggy, and trips over itself every few hours. It’s been horrible for months. WHY U NO FIX?!?

musicstudio v4.0.3 · 10 years ago

The auto-load of the feed means that my feed position is jumping around constantly. Doesn’t seem to matter where/what I do to stay on the tweet I’m trying to read. Bouncing around like that and I am supposed to be able to read it? It’s dizzying! Desperately needs a fix; going back to Twitter in my browser.

I just installed the new update, and it crashes even more than it did before. I can’t stay 5 minutes on the app before it crashes from nowhere. Please fix this.

Opening times got even worse for me in this latest update (13+ seconds on a loaded Late 2013 MBP 15”). Still pegs one core at 100% on DM screen (with the sluggishness, spinning fans, and decreased laptop battery life that that entails) and throws up an endless series of spinning lollipops. After this many failed revisions since 4.0.0 it’s probably time to have this app removed from the App Store.

There are issues with this iteration of the app. I like the app, but it crashes constantly. Is anybody actually working on this thing? There are good features, but it’s just not working properly.

doctormike v4.1.1 · 9 years ago

Use the mobile version

Crashes, search tool sucks, very slow to load, the # auto doesn’t work it’s just awful. I’m deleting it from my computer now.

Keep getting error message telling me there are too many versions of Twitter For Mac signed into my account, and that my feed will be delayed, but I only own and use one Mac, so I can’t see how this is possible. No I am not signed into Twitter in Safari, nor have I added my account under Internet Accounts in System Preferences. OS X and all software are up-to-date. This is really annoying, please address.
